Motive Hair, in the vibrant heart of Austin, Texas, is more than a hair salon. Founded in the midst of the global pandemic by two dedicated stylists, we’ve quickly become a beacon of resilience, creativity, and community spirit. Our founders Shawna Parvin and Drea Russolillo, both seasoned stylists, had the vision to create a salon that not only offers inclusive top-tier hair services, but also serve as a hub for local creativity and support.
Our cozy space, featuring four styling chairs, provides an intimate atmosphere that sets us apart from larger, high-volume salons. We believe in making every client feel at home, comfortable, and celebrated, regardless of age, gender, race, or background.
We specialize in an array of hair color and haircut services, from classic to avant-garde, and a variety of hair types. Our stylists are dedicated artists with a deep understanding of color theory and cutting techniques, ensuring that every client walks out feeling confident, beautiful, and distinctly themselves.
What it means when we say we are more than just a hair salon… We have hosted live performances by local musicians and pop up markets for talented artisans. In addition to the arts, we have supported the local non-profit sector by leveraging our space and services to generate resources for these causes. In 2022 we raised over one thousand dollars for the organization Everybody Texas! These collaborations have not only strengthened our bond with the community but have also provided a platform for local entrepreneurs and artists to shine.
